Shocked That Obama Rejected Keystone XL Pipeline?

EXPOSE OBAMA

Frank York, EPAAbuse.com

We’re about as shocked at Obama’s anti-energy decision as Claude Rains was in feigning surprise that Rick’s cafe in Casablanca permitted gambling on the premises. Remember the scene:Captain Renault exclaims “I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!” – and then collects his winnings from gambling.
The rejection of jobs and an energy source from an ally was expected from a president who is determined to shut down all sources of energy in North America.
After all,he has to cater to his radical environmentalist base. He needs their support for the upcoming presidential election. He would prefer that America remain dependent on Islamic oil or oil from southern hemisphere dictators.
The American Petroleum Institute (API) PresidentJack Gerard reacted to his decision:
Well,it’s very unfortunate to the American people that this decision was made today. The president has abdicated his leadership role in trying to create jobs in this country. The president has repeatedly said he’s for job creation and today he rejected the largest shovel-ready project in the United States today. He can’t be serious about job creation if he takes the largest project that would create jobs and put it on the back burner and say, well,we’re not going to do this today. We’re very disappointed by this decision and I believe it will have political consequence.
Donald Trump was clearly disgusted by Obama’s rejection of the shovel-ready jobs project, but he pointed out that if America had a sound energy policy,we wouldn’t even need Canadian oil. We have enough of our own.
Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto notes:
Congress’s aim was to force Obama either to approve the pipeline or take the blame for rejecting it. He has managed to do neither, and the Hill reported yesterday that Republican lawmakers, anticipating a rejection or a punt, have been exploring options to force approval of the pipeline. But such a measure would be “highly unlikely to clear the Senate.” Thus it appears the president has escaped the trap the Republicans laid for him.
The left,of course,is giddy over Obama’s clever rejection of the pipeline project. The Huffington Postgloated….

Pictures: 5 Cruise Ship Disasters That Changed Travel

Costa Concordia picture: cruise ship lies off the coast of Giglio Porto, Italy, for a cruise shipwreck disasters gallery

The cruise ship Costa Concordia lies partially sunk just a few hundred yards from the rocky coast of the Italian island of Giglio on Monday. Though the fallout from the disaster remains unclear, past luxury liner accidents—theTitanic shipwreck being the most infamous—have sparked new measures for keeping passengers safe and dry.
The Costa Cruises-run ship's hull was ripped after the liner ran aground Friday.Capt. Francesco Schettino had steered the 126,000-ton vessel dangerously close to shore, purportedly to salute people on the island.
Eleven people are confirmed dead from the accident, and 23 people are still missing. Accused of manslaughter, causing a shipwreck, and abandoning ship, Schettino is now under house arrest.
Cruise historian John Maxtone-Graham said the decision by the Costa Concordia's captain to leave the sinking ship early was shameful.
"He wasn't the last man off," he said. "That is horrendous behavior. He's obviously a man of very lax principles and he'll never be on the bridge again."

"Rusticles" coat the railing of the sunken R.M.S. Titanic (file picture), which sank in the North  Atlantic during the ship's maiden voyage from Southampton, U.K., to New York City on April 15, 1912.
More than 1,500 people died in the disaster, largely because the White Star cruise line outfitted the ship with only enough lifeboats for about half the people aboard.
"That was extremely ill advisable," said Maxtone-Graham, author of the new book Titanic Tragedy: A New Look at the Lost Liner, due in March.
To make matters worse, no lifeboat drill involving passengers was performed before the Titanic set out, and many of the oars in the available lifeboats were so new that they were still tied with twine.
"When people got in the boat that night, some of them had a hard time getting the oars rigged," said Maxtone-Graham.
As a result of the Titanic disaster, modern cruise liners now must carry enough lifeboats for all of the passengers on board.
Many observers and survivors of the Costa Concordia have compared that accident to that of the Titanic. Some of those comparisons are justified, saidNational Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Robert Ballard, who discovered the wreck of the Titanic in 1985.
"Both of their captains showed poor judgment," Ballard said.

Charred, the cruise ship Star Princess heads into port in Montego Bay, Jamaica, in March 2006.
The Star Princess fire, begun on a private balcony, was likely the victim of a cigarette burn gone very wrong. "The rubber matting that covered the balconies was fabricated from crude oil, and it was flammable," Maxtone-Graham said.
"What was amazing was that the fire spread the length of the deck, jumped from balcony to balcony, and then up two more decks."
The fire was eventually put out, and the Star Princess was repaired. The ship now has sprinklers on all of its balconies—and the UN's International Maritime Organization has since adopted a new code requiring more fire-resistant cabin balconies.

Netanyahu: Talks Cannot End Before They Begin

THE EMBASSY OF ISRAEL

Academia LogoJerusalem hopes the Palestinians are not looking for an excuse to leave direct negotiations just two weeks after they began, an Israeli government official said Sunday according to the Jerusalem Post.

Israeli envoy Yitzhak Molcho and chief PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat met Saturday night at the headquarters of the Jordanian General Intelligence Department in Amman for the third round of Jordanian- sponsored talks since January 3. For the first time, neither representatives of Jordan nor the Quartet - the US, EU, UN and Russia - participated in these talks.

Al-Hayat quoted a senior Palestinian official as saying there would be only one more meeting between the two sides, on January 25.

The Palestinians say January 26 is a deadline imposed by the Quartet on the two sides last September to present comprehensive proposals on border and security issues.

"Israel is committed to peace with the Palestinians," IsraeliPrime Minister Netanyahu said. "There are no preconditions for the negotiations. The talks cannot be over before they begin. I am ready to meet with Abu Mazen anywhere, anytime; I call on him not to run away from peace and to continue the negotiations."

Victoria Nuland, spokesperson for the U.S. State Departmentsaid, "We don't want [the Palestinians], or anybody else, to get so fixated on the date that it chills the mood. We want them to keep going on the hard work that they're doing together."

Decorating with a few new "Gadgets" - Bee Sting

Americans Stand with Israel
by Bee Sting
Friday, January 20, 2012

Just like decorating our homes, when we spend lots of time on the computer, there is always the fun of decorating the laptops.  For those of us without laptops and are using PC's, looking at the same desktop picture can become boring, so we change the desktop wallpaper frequently and I am guilty of doing that, depending on my mood, season, or when I receive a new photo of one of the grandchildren.

And, then there is the fun of trying new things on our blogs to dress it up, or add something that I feel will interest my readers.  Anyone visiting here more than a few times will notice that no matter how bad the news, I try sprinkling in a few music videos for relief and I don't have to tell you how much I enjoy music - it's a given!

However, today I spent the day learning how to run "gadgets" that will bring the top news and some of my favorite blogs directly to you and believe me, I'm no computer expert, so it takes time to learn something new!  After I added the gadgets to the blog, uploading the front page was running very, very slow and so, I had to remove the music videos, re-adjust the Gadgets (spread them out on the sidebar) and ta-da, I think I finally have this blog in tip top shape.

The links I provide to my favorite blogs and writers are listed at the bottom right-hand side - I have removed some and added others.  If you wish to have me add your blog, please send me a message.

Call me a cheerleader, for while I am not the best of writers, I cheer the authors who so creatively express my  own feelings and thoughts, but also that of most Conservatives.  I'm sorry you can't hear my comments, see my smiles and the nodding of my head in agreement, but the very fact that I know you are correct is the very reason you may find yourself sitting here ... for others to read.

In closing, I must tell you that while we all make personal friends when blogging, while others we do not know as well, there is one writer who encouraged me when I first began blogging two years ago and that person is Daniel Greenfield/Sultan Knish.  Just a few words from someone I admired from a distance, for his ability to write and speak so clearly, helped me realize that while we do not meet face to face, a kind word is all that makes a difference to anyone who spends time on the computer, attempting to present the truth within a maze of distortions and deception presented by the liberal media. Speedy Media, Bare Naked Islam, great examples of faithful friends and amazing dedication in their work! When I need a good laugh, I always visit  , who does amazing things with his political pictures and comments.

Kind words are like giving someone a hug after hours searching the Net for news and essays that are not presented by the local and international newspapers - you know them, they have millions of followers!  Which means, we are either out-numbered 10-1, or we're so conservative that we remain silent, while Obama spends money like water to run his lying campaign ads.

So, I'm not silent, post what I think is interesting, and hope you come back to visit from time to time.  Thank you for stopping in to visit!

LEADERSHIP
I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD

It used to be that you were supposed to win a Super Bowl before celebrating with a trip to Disney World as a public figure, but Obama can't stop doing his touchdown dances even as the country sinks faster. The similarities between Obama and Captain Francesco Schettino are a little too obvious.

The Captain ordering dinner as his ship is sinking and the elected leader of the United States partying on as the debt hits completely unsustainable levels are behaving the same way. Obama sinking the United States economy to do favors for his friends and Captain Schettino sinking a ship to wave to his buddy are the product of the same egotistical mentality.

If someone could just convince Obama that America was going down, then he would be on the first plane to wherever the good life is.

MUSLIM HATE GROUPS ON CAMPUS

My pamphlet on Muslim Brother hate groups on campus has been published and is available at the David Horowitz Freedom Center and Front Page Magazine. The campus Muslim Student Associations or MSA's are tied to a long history of Jihadist terror.

"Muslim Students Association leaders have gone on to become leading figures in terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda. Anwar al-Awlaki, for instance, was MSA president at Colorado State University before he became the leader of external operations for Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Ziyad Khaleel, was MSA president at Columbia College11 before he became Al-Qaeda’s procurement agent in the United States. Abu Mansoor al-Amriki, onetime MSA president at the University of South Alabama, is now the spokesman for the Al-Qaeda affiliate in Somalia. Wa’el Hamza Julaidan was MSA president at the University of Arizona before he became a co-founder of Al-Qaeda.

Some former MSA presidents are in prison on terrorism charges or actively involved in illegal activities. Abdul Rahman Alamoudi, a former MSA national president, is serving a 23-year sentence for illegal transactions with a state sponsor of terrorism.

Ohio State University’s MSA used its publication MSANEWS to distribute terrorist bulletins from Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Muhajiroun and even Osama Bin Laden. These bulletins included Bin Laden’s “Declaration of War” against the United States. (the introduction appended to Bin Laden’s words concluded: “Read and get ready for JIHAAD!!”) MSANEWS even maintained a special section dedicated to Bin Laden under its listing of “scholars,” which was featured on a CNN broadcast as an example of how Bin Laden used the Internet to spread his teachings. An MSANEWS bulletin from Al-Muhajiroun praised the Al-Qaeda attacks on American embassies in Africa, saying, “American interests are not safe anywhere in the world,” and “the Mujahideen will seek out and obliterate them into rubble as happened today.”

You can see the whole detailed write up in the pamphlet, Muslim Hate Groups on Campus. Anyone who cares about the Islamic intimidation of Jewish students and the radical activity of the Brotherhood on campus will find some interesting material here.

THE SURVIVOR

Whatever else Newt Gingrich is, he's a survivor. The establishment sank him once over Paul Ryan and he came back. It sank him a second time over Bain and once again he's back. A much hyped interview with his ex-wife hardly touched him no matter how often Drudge pushed the story.

With Perry out and Santorum lagging despite his apparent win in Iowa, Gingrich is pulling ahead as the Anti-Romney. Santorum still has a shot, but it's a longer haul and he may have been undermined by having a win stolen from him in Iowa. Had he emerged as the winner then there would have been a definite Anti-Romney going into South Carolina. Either man could cement the other's status by dropping out and endorsing the other, but that isn't too likely to happen soon.

Despite Gingrich's nine lives, the Marianne story shows that he needs to own his biography sooner rather than later. His debate position is entirely legitimate and popular, but at the same time he needs to find ways to connect his story to the grand ideas he's moving. Falling many times and still being able to get up again is a perfect metaphor for how many people see America today and for his own path. Being poor and achieving success would ground his talk of jobs over food stamps in a way that Romney can't.

Gingrich seems resistant to using his biography that way, but it's a time honored tradition in American politics and he will have to do it sooner rather than later. A humble biography helps offset the power of class warfare. Telling people that he doesn't come from diplomats and bank presidents, but hard working people is something he needs to do more often. And conceding that he has made mistakes and learned to overcome his weaknesses through faith and determination is something people need to hear, not necessarily right after a major scandal rollout, but during the campaign.

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION THROWING THINK PROGRESS UNDER THE BUS?

I wouldn't bet on it, but in a sign that Soros' Center for American Progress may have overreached in its attack on Jews, Jarrod Bernstein, the White House's liaison to the Jewish community tried to put some distance between CAP and the Obama Administration.

The problem is that the Center for American Progress is so closely linked to Obama that it's hard for Bernstein to plausibly pass off its views as distant. CAP has been the think tank for the administration.
"Cooper conveyed his concerns about CAP during a White House meeting last week with Obama’s newly appointed Jewish community liaison, Jarrod Bernstein, who told Cooper that the situation at CAP was “troubling” and not reflective of “this administration.”

Which means mainly that Jews have to be talked down this election.

The real issue is that the CAP boys began going after mainstream Jewish organizations for not being Anti-Israel and in one of their dumbest moves to date began bashing the Simon Wiesenthal Center. This is some of the blowback.

The National Jewish Democratic Council once again showed off its Uncle Tom stripes by defending CAP.

David Harris, president of the National Jewish Democratic Council, described CAP’s views on Israel and Iran as reflecting “mainstream positions and concerns of the American Jewish community — and indeed of most Americans.”

Clearly that's not true. CAP's views on Israel mirror those of Pat Buchanan. I went into more detail on this subject in my Front Page Magazine article, Soros Firsters Bash Israel.

The Center for American Progress is the brain of the Obama Administration, the think tank whose talking points feed back and forth out of the White House and into the media. Its attitude that anyone who defends Israel is the enemy speaks volumes about the ideological tenor in the highest offices of this government. Jilani and Gharib are at CAP because they fit its agenda and CAP fits the agenda of its corrupt billionaire backers. And it’s that agenda, more than the slurs of some of CAP’s bloggers who are doing the dirty work that they are paid to do, that should really worry anyone who cares about the future of this country and the free world.

George Soros has said, “It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out.” In 2003 we all began living out Soros’ power mad fantasies when he declared that the central focus of his life was to force Bush out of office. That same year the Center for American Progress came into being under the impetus and with the financial backing of America’s newest self-made god.

You can see the rest of the article at Front Page Magazine

VERY SERIOUSLY

Update: CAP has "responded" to the Washington Post under the subheader, "Organization Takes Charges of Anti-Semitism Very Seriously".

Taking charges very seriously is usually the corporate mea culpa right after you messed up big time and you realize that you're supposed to nod long enough to be able to move past this.

"The Center for American Progress is and always has been pro-Israel, committed to a peace process that produces a durable two-state solution negotiated by the parties..." is how the response begins.

This is how it ends. "It is disappointing that in spite of our clear record and our recent actions, we continue to face political attacks that attempt to discredit our entire body of work on critical national security issues."

Meanwhile the first article on the sidebar of the site is Matt Duss' "Talking to the Muslim Brotherhood (Finally)". The Brotherhood's spiritual leader has praised Hitler and called for exterminating the Jews.

"The only thing that I hope for is that as my life approaches its end, Allah will give me an opportunity to go to the land of Jihad and resistance, even if in a wheelchair. I will shoot Allah's enemies, the Jews, and they will throw a bomb at me, and thus, I will seal my life with martyrdom. Praise be to Allah."

And this...

Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption," he said. "The last punishment was carried out by Hitler. By means of all the things he did to them - even though they exaggerated this issue - he managed to put them in their place. This was divine punishment for them. Allah willing, the next time will be at the hands of the believers."

... is it any wonder that the Center for Un-American Progress declared war on the Anti-Nazi Simon Wiesenthal Center.

JEWISH STUDENTS IN FRANCE PRETENDING TO BE MUSLIMS TO AVOID BEING ATTACKED

ATLAS SHRUGS
BY, PAMELA GELLER

Everything that's old is new again. Islam in Europe.
Jewish Students in France Pretending to Be Muslims to Avoid Being Attacked Answering Muslms hat tip jack
I'm sure Western Muslims would love to do something about this, if only they weren't so busy complaining about Islamophobia.
THE JERUSALEM POST--From the mid-1930s to early 1940s, Jews who recognized that they were no longer safe in Europe anxiously sought refuge abroad. Sylvain Zenouda, the co-founder and current vice president of the Bureau National de Vigilance Contre l"Antisèmitism—an organization which monitors and documents anti-Semitism in France—told me that educated young Jews in France with the financial means to do so have either fled the country or are making plans to flee. Again?

80 years ago, our people were being verbally abused and brutally assaulted in public places. And now it seems to be happening all over again. Viviane Teitelbaum, a minister in the Brussels Regional Parliament, related an incident that occurred this past November involving a 13-year old Jewish girl in Brussels. The girl was brutally assaulted at her school, resulting in her hospitalization for multiple injuries including a concussion. The attackers were not members of the Third Reich’s SS, but a group of female Muslim students at the same school. The ringleader pronounced her to be a “filthy Jew!” Apparently, in the weeks prior to the attack, the girl’s father had approached the authorities and the school with complaints that there had been threats made by fellow classmates against his daughter. Upon hearing that his concerns were simply brushed aside, I immediately thought of Yogi Berra’s famous gaff: “This is like déjà vu all over again!”

2 generations ago, some Jews sought to protect themselves by masquerading as Aryans. In an interview conducted in November, a Parisian mother related how the fear of being physically attacked by Muslim extremist thugs means that it is “not rare at all today” for French Jewish students to attempt to pass themselves off as Muslim - with some even going as far as to fast on Ramadan. One case in point was a Jewish girl of North African descent who for years was successful in this deception, until finally she was “exposed” when Muslim girls caught her eating matzah in thebathroom during Pesah. After her classmates beat her viciously, they invited their male Muslim friends to their school to participate in a gang rape.

Wait…didn’t this happen to us already? (Read more.)

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Oh the insanity of this man!

HIV created by West to enfeeble third world, claims Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran has claimed that Western nations created HIV to enfeeble the third world and create a market for Western pharmaceuticals.

HIV created by West to enfeeble third world, claims Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
President Ahmadinejad has previously suggested that the September 11 attacks on the US were planned from within Photo: AP

The radical Iranian leader added to his reputation for outlandish statements with the clam that African states were being false told that immoral behaviour was the source of epidemics.
"Today there is this outstanding question that why so many killer viruses, including the HIV virus, have spread all over the world. Many so-called experts say the spread has come as a result of vices and immoralities but we see that in the centre of the places that these viruses have emerged these immoral acts have not been reported," he said. "Then how is it that at the same time in some African countries they find these viruses?
"It is obvious that the African countries must be plundered of their wealth and resources. The major powers and despots are behind the development of these diseases so they could then sell their drugs and medical equipment to the poor countries".
Iran¹s Health Minister Fatemeh Vahid Dastjerdi has also said that Iran¹s profit margin from its oil production is only five percent of its total sale price, whereas pharmaceutical firms¹ profits is 20 percent for each drug they sell.
President Ahmadinejad has previously said that Israel in its present form should be wiped off the face of the map and suggested that the September 11 attacks on the US were planned from within.

Bee's Note:
Now, don't forget folks ... this is the guy Obama is sending "secret" letters to; the same guy Obama thinks he can "reason" with ... so, I ask you, is insanity running through the minds of more than a few world leaders?  .... We can't do anything about Iran's leader, but for heaven's sakes, let's vote out the one presently in the White House, as he appears to have lost all sense of reality in governing America.

Are The GOP Debaters Foolish Enough to Take CNN's Bait?

January 19, 2012

AMERICAN THINKER

By C. Edmund Wright

So CNN's executives have let it slip (at least to Drudge*) that they are "going to let them just go at it" in what they are calling the "Republican Debate of the Year" tonight in South Carolina.
Let me translate:
'We are going to do our damndest to get the candidates to go at each other and totally ignore Barack Obama.  We're going to ask those cute little questions like 'Governor Romney, with Speaker Gingrich standing right here, will you say to his face that he's the biggest son of a blah blah blah..... '
So please tell me, Republican candidates, that you are not foolish enough to fall for this.  Please?  No one has gained anything in this cycle in the debates by trashing other Republicans. (more on that later)
Quite the opposite in fact.  Consider the travails of Newt:
Gingrich had an unprecedented standing ovation from most of the crowd Monday night in a now famous exchange with Juan Williams.  To gain that kind of amazing response, Newt uttered not a single syllable about any of this GOP opponents. Instead, Newt overwhelmed the liberal Williams and his typical template with logic and history and power and passion and -- get this -- conservative principle!
The response was amazing.  His standing ovation was so loud and universal that it had to include many folks who entered the hall supporting others instead of Gingrich.  This is not everyday stuff.  Not only that, but it gained Newt millions of dollars worth of accolades on Rush and Hannity and other talk shows the next day.  All of this has given him huge bumps in both national and S.C. polls.
And it worked because this is what the Republican base voters are so obviously craving.  That is why they responded so powerfully.  And in fact, Newt's other great moments -- on terror, local control of schools and unemployment compensation -- were all moments generated by a classic Gingrich lecture where conservatism simply over powered failed liberal prescriptions for these issues.
Actually, if you go back through the 16 debates and track the big crowd moments, most of them result from Gingrich taking apart a liberal premise and usually a liberal questioner in the process.  It's the primary reason Gingrich went from around 5% support to 35- 45% a few weeks ago.  He didn't have any advertising to speak of.  It was all the debates and that was all about attacking liberalism and doing it very effectively.
Monday, the only time Gingrich mentioned another GOP candidate in any of these exchanges is when Ron Paul used left wing Code Pink logic on how to deal with terrorists and Newt slapped him down.  But the crowd roar was not at Paul being slapped down.  It was in response to another liberal sacred cow being skewered.
In other words, the problems we have in our country today are not the fault of Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry or Ron Paul.  The problem is Barack Obama and the solution is removing him and as many liked minded members of congress as possible from office.  Period.
Why these candidates, and their consultants and strategists can't understand this is agonizing and symptomatic of a Washington culture that does not understand the nation it tortures.  The consultant class is largely from D.C. or at least "of" D.C.  Ironic is that when Rick Perry hired all of Newt's consultants away upon entering the race, Perry was at about 35% in the polls. His consultants have taken him right to about 6% now.  Meanwhile, Newt and Herman Cain (who never had hired any of the consultant class) soared.
Conversely, the attacks in the debates have backfired.  Michelle Bachmann imploded when she went Bachmann Turn-Off Overdrive on Rick Perry over the HPV issue.  After making a legitimate point on parental control and a smaller point on crony capitalism, she should have let it go.  But no, she had to paint Perry as the next Joseph Mengele.  And it failed.  Her campaign went straight downhill from there and she never recovered.  She tried by being the attack dog in all of the debates, including her trite "Newt Romney" attack.  She limped away with barely 5% of her home state vote.
After the HPV attacks,  a wounded Perry made a few unforced errors -- including a pathetic exchange with Romney over who cut Mitt's grass.  Then we had the kindergarten food fight over what was -- or was not -- said in Mitt's book.  From two governors who want to be President?
And there were numerous other exchanges like that and all of it was simply for the amusement of the media moderators.  And it is driven by an inside the beltway culture -- blind as it is -- that looks at all of this as a game instead of understanding that this is about the future of our Republic and whether it survives or not.
The voters, however, largely understand the gravity of the situation -- and once again are way ahead of most of the candidates and their consultants as well as the pundit class.  Thus, they respond on those occasions when the candidates figure it out as well.  On Monday night, Newt figured it out.  He put the Bain disaster behind him and re-focused on the problem: Barack Obama and liberalism.  He aimed, fired and scored several direct hits and might have saved his campaign in the process.
Tonight he and all of the candidates have another opportunity to do the same.  There is the Keystone Pipeline issue just lying there for the taking, not to mention the recess appointments made by Obama and of course the NLRB assault on South Carolina is still a raw issue.
The candidate who ignores the CNN bait and his GOP opponents and focuses on the real problems will win this debate.  If none of them figure this out, we all lose and it's a win for CNN and Barack Obama.  You know that and I know that instinctively.  Why is this so hard to figure out?
