Iran’s Adventure in the Straits of Hormuz. Obama’s Failure and a Turning Point for the Next 100 Years

by POX
If you’re not up to speed on this because you’ve been enjoying your Christmas holiday, check the story below. The basics are that Iran is embarking on 10 days of “war games” to prove they have the muscle needed to block 1/3 of world oil shipments should the U.S. take further action to deny them their nuclear weapons through embargoes or sanctions.
The Obama administration has taken every possible wrong step in dealing with Iran. It’s almost as if somehow the book “The Manchurian Candidate” has come to life, only this time it’s “The Tehranian Candidate.”
Obama has done so many things wrong all I can do is give a partial list…
1. He was totally silent with the Iranian uprising that could have toppled the regime without any military action on our part, eliminating the problem all at once, while he has encouraged all other “Arab Spring” activities that are turning out to create MORE problems for Israel and LESS FREEDOM in the region.
2. He has a giant “A” for “Appeasement” tattooed on his forehead. As a candidate for President he continually stressed his opposition to military action and his desire to use diplomacy and “world pressure” as his only tool.
3. He has alienated Israel at every possible opportunity and emboldened Israel’s neighbors to be more aggressive with their demands for Palestinian statehood while doing nothing about Hamas and Hezbollah smuggling, kidnapping, terrorism and rocket attacks into Israel. A weakened Israel has less of a chance to carry out a successful strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
4. He has actively denied EVERY attempt to resolve the energy problem in the U.S. in too many ways to count. This has driven up the long term price of oil, ensuring the Iran has all the money it needs to resist any sanctions, and it can afford to buy any weapons it needs for it activities.
Ron Paul says the Iranian regime “just wants to be left alone.” If we just get out of their side of the world all our problems will be over and Iran won’t need a nuclear weapon. “And if they did, ‘mutually assured destruction’ would prevent them from using their bomb.”
I love Ron Paul, but his view of foreign policy is so absurd it’s laughable, while Obama’s foreign policy borders on criminal.
M.A.D. assumes that the balance of power goes like this. “If you blow up Tel Aviv we’ll blow up Tehran, so you won’t dare attack.” Iran having a nuclear bomb means they can say to Israel, “if you blow up Tehran, we’ll blow up Tel Aviv.” That made sense with our previous opponents like the Soviet Union or China. But Iran doesn’t use the same “logic” at all. THEY ARE RELIGIOUS FANATICS. THEY DON’T CARE IF WE BLOW UP THEIR CITIES. Their long term goal is to destroy Israel and then the rest of the Western world and take over what’s left.
And Iran having nuclear material by itself is enough for them to tip the balance of power in the Middle East. Again, too many ways to detail, so here’s a list.
They can give radioactive material to their terrorist surrogates and release it in Israel and major cities in the U.S. and Europe. Even the threat of such destruction is enough to make appeasement and virtual SURRENDER our only option.
Obama’s refusal to take an active role in supporting Israel and no action to oppose Iran means the rest of the Arab world, even though they hate the Iranians, will also have to capitulate. That means controlling the supply of oil to strangle the West and favor our opponents like Russia and China. Under that threat, Europe will continue to peel away their support of the U.S. and capitulate to Iran. Even without an operational nuclear bomb, Iran has enough nuclear material to spread throughout Arab oil fields to ruin their supply for thousands of years. They understand this threat.
So what do we do? Again, too many items to detail, so here’s another list.
1. SAY “NO” TO THE ENVIRONMENTALISTS and DRILL EVERYWHERE. Our drilling methods are so much safer than any other countries’ that it makes me think the entire environmentalist movement is a puppet of the oil cartels. Why do they oppose the Keystone pipeline when there are tens of thousands of miles of existing pipelines all across the country? There’s no other reason to resist ABSOLUTELY EVERY ATTEMPT to develop our own resources and strengthen our country. What are their true motivations? I’m sure there are many who truly want to save the planet (I do, too!), but who is in the background egging them on to eliminate all growth in the U.S?        CONTINUE READING ...

Zahar brags that Hamas would win elections - Elder of Ziyon

 ELDER OF ZIYON

Monday, December 26, 2011

From Ma'an:
Senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahhar said Sunday that his movement would win a sweeping victory in upcoming legislative elections due in May.

The Hamas leader said that Hamas would gain a better percentage than their 2006 election victory, where they won 74 of an available 132 seats in the Palestinian Legislative Council.

Hamas has not yet made a decision about a presidential candidate, he added.

Zahhar made the remarks during an interview with London based pan-Arab Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
In the Arabic interview, Zahar said that Hamas is "delighted" by polls showing Fatah leading them, because he said the polls said the same in 2006, when Hamas rolled to a large victory over Fatah.
One fact about the 2005 local elections and the 2006 legislative elections that most people don't realize: Hamas won in the West Bank as well, not just in Gaza.

In the December 2005 local elections, Hamas won 73% of the vote in Nablus, 72% in Al Birah (Abbas' hometown), and a majority in Jenin. Only in Ramallah itself (where there are a significant number of people working, directly or indirectly, for Fatah) did Fatah manage to eke out a tie.

I don't know if that would happen today, but Hamas is much stronger in supposedly Fatah strongholds than most people know.

PLO threatens to withdraw recognition of Israel

Monday, December 26, 2011

ELDER OF ZIYON
More moderation from those darlings of the Western world, the PLO:
Mohammed Shtayyeh, member of the Fatah Central Committee and one of the Palestinian Authority negotiators with Israel, was quoted Sunday as saying that the Palestinians may cancel the agreements signed between the PLO and Israel.

Shtayyeh's comments were published by the London-based Asharq Al Awsat newspaper.

This was not the first time that a senior PA official had talked about the possibility of abrogating the Oslo Accords.

The comments came less than 48 hours after Hamas and Islamic Jihad agreed to join a temporary leadership of the PLO that would prepare for new elections for the organization's two key bodies - the Palestine National Council and Executive Committee.
You mean that recognition is reversible? Come on, it can't be. Teams of Western Middle East experts have told us that the PLO's recognition of Israel is permanent and proof of their peaceful intent. If the PLO can decide in an instant that their agreements are worthless that would mean that "peace" was a tactical move to take land away from Jewish control, not a strategic move to live in peace with their neighbors. And after hearing how peaceful they are for two decades - even after they launched a terrorist war in the midst of it - how can we believe that they would change their minds?

This is the same guy who sent out his Christmas card wishing to celebrate next year in "liberated Palestine."

UPDATE: Hanan Ashrawi says the same thing, so this is not just one guy mouthing off - this is a coordinated threat by the PLO.

Iran says ready to expand military links with Iraq

“How many times can they recall their ambassador?”

Illustration from antisemitic site blaming Jews for the Armenian Genocide
I’ve written numerous articles over the past few years about Jews, Israel and the Armenian Genocide. The subject is current yet again, asthe Knesset is discussing whether or not Israel should officially recognize it.

My position has always been that the Genocide is a historical fact and should be recognized as such. The US has never done so — during the cold war, Turkey was considered an integral part of the anti-Soviet alliance, and it is still considered by the Obama Administration too important an ally to irritate unnecessarily, despite agitation by Armenians in the US (and to no small extent in Fresno, which is one of the centers of Armenian population in the US).

The US State Department has been happy to suggest that the failure to pass bills calling for recognition has been the fault of the “Israel Lobby.” Last year a local Armenian activist published an op-ed in the Fresno Bee pushing this theory. The article went so far as to say that “the Jewish lobby was complicit” in genocide denial, and since “denial is the last stage of genocide,” in genocide itself.

The Middle East is a complicated place, and there are not just two sides. Iran, Turkey and Egypt all see themselves as replacing the US as the major power in the region. Turkey has aspirations to expand its influence as a Sunni Islamist power, which have put it in conflict with Iran, Hizballah and the Assad regime in Syria. The US may be fooling itself in thinking that Turkey is an ally in this respect. Insofar as it is acting in concert with the US, it is doing so for its own motives. Although Turkey would try to punish the US in some fashion, I doubt there would be any major change in policy if Congress finally passed a bill recognizing the Genocide.

In Israel there are still those who think that the relationship with Turkey can be repaired, although it seems evident that AKP Islamist ideology is moving in the opposite direction. One real concern is for the small Jewish community in Turkey. At the time of one of the previous debates in the US, the Turkish Ambassador suggested that antisemitism in Turkey might get out of control if Israel did not prevent Congress from passing the bill! In addition to the repulsiveness of holding this small mostly elderly community hostage, this plays into the stupid and offensive notion that the “Jewish lobby” has the power to control the US Congress — something that my Armenian activist friend apparently agrees with.
Interestingly, it’s mostly been the Left in both the US and Israel that has called for recognition. Perhaps I’m cynical, but this may change now that Turkey has moved farther on the road to Islamism and hostility to Israel and the US.

Those that take every opportunity to attack Israel find this issue congenial. If Israel does not recognize the Genocide, it’s because of ugly political expediency. If it does, then it’s only to punish the Turks for exposing Israel’s ‘mistreatment’ of the saintly Palestinian Arabs. A particularly offensive position commonly attributed to Jews is that recognition of the Armenian Genocide would diminish the importance of the Jewish Holocaust.

Kenneth Segal, a former rabbi of the local Reform Temple in Fresno once made an effort at rapprochement with the Armenian community and even got a resolution passed at the Reform movement’s biennial convention in 1989. Segal was unsparing in criticizing the state of Israel, as was the Armenian pastor he invited to speak at his temple. Apparently it was not considered possible to recognize that a crime was committed by Turks in 1915 without bashing Israel.

I think that its time for both Israel and the US to put the issue to rest and admit that it is appropriate to use the word ‘genocide’ to describe the policy that brought about the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915.

As one member of the Knesset, Ori Orbach, said, “How many times can they recall their ambassador?”

Joyce Kaufman: The 7 Reasons to Support Israel

At an event commemorating the first full year of weekly rallies in support of Israel held at Broward Boulevard and Northeast Third Avenue in Fort Lauderdale Florida keynote speaker Joyce Kaufman a WFTL 850 talk show host details "The 7 Reasons to Support Israel." America's enemies are Israel's enemies.  Israel has been defending her nation from its surrounding Arab/Muslim countries since her rebirth in 1948.  Joyce Kaufman mentions "7 reasons" why we should support Israel, but the list is much longer than those 7 reasons.

False Accusations:
Just before family arrived over the weekend, we had a visit from a fellow named Steve (Corry, Pennsylvania, United States) who stumbled upon our blog from militarygrear.com.  It was obvious Steve's comments demonstrated a lack of intelligence and facts, but his main purpose in bashing Israel, was to promote a lie and accusations made on this site: "Veterans Today", the article entitled "Breaking: Patriot Missles Seized, Sold to China by Israel (Updates)".

The Muslims are not Israel's only enemies; there are anti-Semitic, Israel-bashing folks throughout the world; but, it is shocking to see a link to a so-called U.S. military journal that promotes accusations against an ally of the United States.  The United States trains yearly with Israel's Defense Forces; they share their technology and information about terrorism that is essential to the security of the United States.  And yet, Steve, who claims to be a "veteran", sent us an Email stating: "Hey, thank your Israeli friends for selling patriot missiles to China. Maybe you could mention it to Pollard next time you visit him in prison."  Steve is also concerned about whether I, personally, am a "veteran", but the concern we have is the fact that Steve's claims of being a veteran are highly doubtful, for we give the United States veterans the highest respect for their service to America, and know that none would do harm or undermine America's allies.

False accusations against Israel compromise and put at risk the relationship between our two nations and undermine our military security.  Steve has spent numerous hours on our blog - one report showing he was on for 22 hours.  Americans Stand with Israel consider him our Number One fan this past week.  The best response to Steve's accusations is from an Israeli, who posted his response this morning, on Veteran's Today:

He also tries to hurt you, step on the wounds. He said Pollard. Pollard affair begins that Pollard think the FBI was following him and trying to get into the Israeli embassy - but getting the door locked. That in Israel - did not tell him to give any information - it becomes of his problem. Pollard, exposed to sensitive information related to Israel, and ask the Ministry to give it to Israel. He gets a strong refusal.
According to a joint agreement - Israel and the U.S., the two sides must share information, related to civil security.
For some reason, the firm felt that Pollard worked him, not having the agreement of transfer of information related to Israel's security, and Pollard, decides to take the risk, and transmit data - related to Israel - if the office - not doing the job.
Pollard met with a senior officer of the Israeli Air Force, that just in case he should be in the United States.
The officer refused to hear something, and Pollard reveal information, the officer can not ignore. Officer transfers the information to Israeli intelligence, and there, do not like it. Pollard - not trained to be an Israeli spy in the U.S.. We have no spies in the United States against the United States, under oath.
So, that Pollard flees to the Israeli embassy, he gets locked out. We did not send someone spy on the United States that we have the same common interests, under those seals, and an American president, what's the difference? He sets us much here. It's her signature hand.
Pollard - accused of spying - but not trained as such, therefore, we do not like that tie his name with the purpose of spying for Israel.
Information, had to get through the U.S. legally. Not through Pollard. But the result of the information, it saved the lives of Israelis, and became one of the action in Arab countries - and it served us well - even you to.

How to insert the name of Israel, as if that was something that we know?

Ship "Thor Liberty" was seen in Finland - on her way to China - AND
To Israel - NO relation to these missiles. This paper a traitor - in Israel's relations with the United States. Look for the entire web around the world. No one outside this paper, do not blame Israel, and not - linking Israel to the ship. This paper - trying to be against Israel - and steal the opinion of citizens in the United States to be an enemy to Israel. Do not listen to it. We did not do an act that would endanger anyone. U.S. Army training with Israel. If the article is correct, stop now train with us - and not help us anymore. But that article complete with lies. Look for a link to another, accusing Israel with it. You will not see anything. Conclusion - Think, there is someone filled with lies and spreading lies.

        • Baron Eshed ·  Top Commenter · Rehovoth, Hamerkaz, Israel
          Another thing ..
Did you forget, when you say that we "did not make a deal with John Doe," we just - let it. Breaking agreements, and get on the head, that Pernod agreements, think about a loss of money, - that you're telling us to change that. So - why blame us for anything? It is outrageous. And if you have on who to vote for any of us here, then do it. Give us names - and we know what to do, and you speak true. Bring us know the names. But very serious charges accuse without any paper that does, right? Not so to do, we know how U.S. citizens can think .. just because of lack of evidence, which is bounded on to false accusations with no basis of facts, citizens will receive a wrong picture that - nothing in from the truth.

          • Baron Eshed ·  Top Commenter · Rehovoth, Hamerkaz, Israel
The accusations against Israel, unreal, nothing was. Bluff
I myself am an Israeli, and as if, by that article, you know nothing about Israel's relations with the United States. United States, the blessed in the heart of the Israelis. We work with you 25 hours a day - get up an hour earlier. Our shared intelligence on the table, and you, your intelligence will inform well, what's right and what is not. Dear people. . We do not do things and not think to do something against. We are friends with common goals. Also we do not do it, because we know full well the consequences of incorrect actions, and not do something that can be against us. Still other reasons: China against sanctions on Iran ... So what we will do something one of these. Nothing makes sense. U.S. Army working with the IDF, not with China. Our goal - American friendship in one hundred percent. For no doubt. Not with someone who against U.S. citizens. It's very provocative, that are a stain on the unbreakable attribute - USA with Israel. So why? It's just not true.

Baron Eshed is not the only individual questioning the reliability or responsibility of poor journalism.  Here is another individual who makes the following comments on Veteran's Today:

        Matt R · Kingfisher, Oklahoma
given the facts put forth in this article.. Where exactly does the articles author come to the conclusion that "israel Sold the weapons to China"? as the article States " Finnish police say they opened all 69 units, are recording serial numbers and have been unable to find any documentation indicating the real ownership of the seized cargo. " so that Begs the question.. if they ahve NO Documentation to show who Owns them, or Where they came from.. then on What basis does the articles author Claim to be able to Deduce that "israel sold China the missles"? sorry, but that's a Valid Key point. This is an example of Very Shoddy reporting, and maybe even Wishfull Grasping at straws to make a "Big Splash" with the articles headline. Such a Shame.

From Oklahoma to Israel,  what people are noticing is there is absolutely no evidence of Israel selling weapons to China; nor has our government and the White House made such claims. The security of both nations depends upon each other's ability to maintain secrecy when it comes to our national security; and to promote lies goes against everything the U.S.and Israel work together to prevent.

As a matter of fact, in searching the Internet, as noted by Baron,  this appears to be the only link making such accusations!  No such claims are being made by the White House, the United States government, or other USA newspapers.  Foreign newspapers are stating that an ongoing investigation is in process and Steve should be aware that without evidence to the contrary, spreading lies is dangerous to the United States, Israel, and all American citizens, since Israel and the U.S. are on the same team when it comes to national security. .... Enough said!
