Selling war based on lies - by Diane Sori

Bee's note:  Diane Sori, of DC Clothesline, has presented the case as to why Barack HUSSEIN Obama is "selling his war based on lies".  I would like to add a link titled: The Truth Behind the War in Syria: The Qatari Natural Gas Pipeline – Obama’s War for Oil submitted by Sharia Unveiled, by   .

Abbas Scorecard on Stopping Terror: 5,700 Attempts to Kill in 2013

Bee's note: Before reading today's article in the Jewish Press, recording the number of terrorist attacks this year by the Palestinians, go to Israel National News and read: Israel, Palestinian Authority 'Determined' to Continue Talks:
John KerryDespite an unprecedented campaign by US President Obama to push for Congressional support on military intervention in Syria, the Obama administration has not been letting up on its efforts to impose a "solution" to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The Obama's administration continues to "impose" another failed policy: this time, between the Arab PLO/PA's and Israel.  Israel is the only country in the Middle East that isn't burning up in flames.  Could that be because Israel is the only democratic country in the Middle East?

Obama's "campaign" is exactly the right term to use to describe these "peace" talks.  Americans are familiar with Obama's five years of campaigning  however, we call it the Road to Nowhere. Abbas is riding that same bus; as he lies about wanting peace with Israel, and yet like a bloodsucker, feeds off the contributions from the U.S., UN, and anyone else foolish enough to support this PA organization  who's only purpose for the past 40 years has been to rob Israel of its peace.  Their one desire is the same as the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah - that desire being to destroy the Jewish state of Israel.

Apparently, that is also the desire of this Administration, led by Obama's team. Has anyone noticed that in his support of all things "Muslim", Obama has betrayed the trusts of America's allies?

Abbas Scorecard on Stopping Terror: 5,700 Attempts to Kill in 2013
Abbas in 2003: ‘We reject terrorism in all forms.' In 2013: there’s no difference between our policies and those of Hamas.’ Results of his ‘Peace Process’ are 5,700 attacks in first six months of 2013.

The resumption of “peace talks’ between the Palestinian Authority and Israel in July came one month after 660 rock and firebomb attacks in June ini Judea and Samaria, according to figures compiled by the “Hatzalah’ Judea and Samaria Emergency teams.

In the first six months of 2013, Hatzalah recorded 5,635 attempts to injure and murder Jews, including 611 Molotov cocktail attacks, eight shootings, three stabbings and 5,144 rock-throwing attacks that are intended to force drivers into fatal accidents, such as the one that killed American Israel Asher Palmer and his two-year-old son two years ago.

The statistics do not include terrorists’ blockage of roads and arson.

At least 180 people were wounded from January through June, including 10 in June, and many of them still suffer from trauma and refuse to travel anywhere except in buses that have extra-thick plastic windows to protect it from rock attacks.

The terrorists attacks are seldom reported in most international and Israeli media because they are less dramatic and less “successful” than large-scale attacks carried out by an armed group. Reporting rock-throwing as a terrorist attack also would go against the inherent urge of foreign media to promote the “peace agenda” and to focus on Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s statements that he rejects terror.

However, Abbas talks in code. After he was chosen as Prime Minister in 2003, before the death of chairman Yasser Arafat whom he later succeeded, Abbas stated, “We reject terrorism from any party and in all forms.”

Earlier this year, a decade later, President Barack Obama told Israel “you do have a true partner in President Abbas… [with] a track record to prove it.”

And Abbas told a Russian interviewer, “As far as I am concerned, there is no difference between our policies and those of Hamas. So why are they labeled as terrorists? In my opinion, [the EU] can remove Hamas [from the list], why not?”

Abbas told the German Die Zeit newspaper in 2012, “We will never return to the armed struggle! Never! There will be only non-violent resistance to the occupation.” The Hatzalah record of attempted murder of Jews in Judea and Samaria as well as in Jerusalem shows that either Abbas has failed to stop terror or defines rock-throwing and firebomb attacks, along with stabbings and shootings, as “non-violent resistance.”

Arab Countries Happy to Pay Us to Invade Syria

FRONT PAGE MAGAZINE
September 8, 2013 By

So the difference between this and the Gulf War is that at least the Muslim masters that American foreign policy is supplying the Christian Janissaries for will foot the bill.

Now that’s progress

SECRETARY KERRY: With respect to Arab countries offering to bear costs and assist, the answer is profoundly yes, they have. That offer is on the table. With respect to boots on the ground, profoundly no. There will be no boots on the ground. The president has said that again and again. And there is nothing in this authorization that should contemplate it. And we reiterate, no boots on the ground.
REP. ROS-LEHTINEN: Thank you, Mr. Secretary. And, the details of the offer and the proposal on the table, what are the figures we are talking about?
KERRY: Well, we don’t know what action we are engaged in right now, but they have been quite significant. I mean, very significant. In fact, some of them have said that if the U.S. is prepared to go do the whole thing, the way we’ve done it previously in other places, they’ll carry that cost. That’s how dedicated they are to this. Obviously, that is not in the cards and nobody is talking about it, but they are talking about taking seriously getting this job done.
Getting the “job” done. Not the war. The job. Which we’ve been contracted out for.  And if we do a really good job breaking ground for the Caliphate there may even be a bonus cut on the price of a barrel of oil in it for us.

Senator John McCain, Foreign Relations “Adviser” to Al Qaeda Death Squads in Syria

Bee's note:  Please take a moment to read before Tuesday's speech to be given by Obama, as he calls on the U.S. to arm and support the Al Qaeda terrorists, posing as "rebels" against the Assad government.  This article by Global Research displays enough evidence to show all of us exactly who these so-called "Freedom Fighters" actually are - they are and always have been - enemies of the United States of America.

GLOBAL RESEARCH'
Global Research, September 06, 2013

While the mainstream media admonishes John McCain for playing a poker game on his iPhone during the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearings on Syria last Wednesday, no one seems to have noticed that the Republican Senator has,  for several years, been supporting and mingling with Al Qaeda commanders in the field in blatant violation of international law as well as in breach of US anti-terrorism legislation.
In April 2011, Senator John McCain described the Al Qaeda affiliated rebels in Libya as follows:
“I have met with these brave fighters, and they are not Al-Qaeda. To the contrary: They are Libyan patriots who want to liberate their nation. We should help them do it.” - Senator John McCain in Benghazi, Libya April 22, 2011.
One of the rebels’ leading figures was Abdel Hakim Belhaj (picture below), a member of the defunct Libyan Islamic Fighting Group LIFG), a terrorist organization on both the UN Security Council and the US State Department lists.
Abdel Hakim Belhaj
In September 2012,  McCain met once more with the Al Qaeda linked Libyan fighters in Benghazi, Libya. (See picture below)
His claim that the “brave fighters” in Libya were not Al Qaeda is in overt contradiction with an authoritative  2007 US Military Academy document entitled, Al Qaeda’s foreign fighters in Iraq, indicating that Benghazi was a hotbed of Islamic militancy:
“Libyan Hometowns
The vast majority of Libyan fighters that included their hometown in the Sinjar Records resided in the country’s Northeast, particularly the coastal cities of Darnah 60.2% (53) and Benghazi 23.9% (21).
Both Darnah and Benghazi have long been associated with Islamic militancy in Libya, in particular for an uprising by Islamist organizations in the mid‐1990s. The Libyan government blamed the uprising on “infiltrators from the Sudan and Egypt” and one group—the Libyan Fighting Group (jamaʹah al‐libiyah al‐muqatilah)—claimed to have Afghan veterans in its ranks.14 The Libyan uprisings became extraordinarily violent.” (Joseph Felter andBrian Fishman, Al Qaeda’s foreign fighters in Iraq, US Military Academy, p.11-12, December 2007).
In 2011, McCain was calling on his country to arm the Al Qaeda affiliated rebels in Benghazi:
McCain called on all nations, especially the U.S., to recognize the National Transitional Council in Benghazi. He said some of the Gadhafi regime’s frozen assets should be redirected to the rebels and the U.S. should facilitate the delivery of weapons to rebel fighters. He clarified that by facilitate he meant not directly arming the rebels, but ensuring that they receive weapons as the U.S. did in the 1980s with the mujahideen battling the Russians in Afghanistan.
Such a call raises alarm bells in some circles. Critics recall that some of those fighters Washington helped arm and train in Afghanistan later joined al-Qaida. McCain dismissed questions about who the rebel leaders are, saying their histories are clear and none of them has any record of supporting radical Islam. (Peter Kenyon, McCain On Libyan Rebels: ‘They Are My Heroes’, NPR, April 22, 2011)
According to a September 2012 Land Destroyer report:
The men McCain was defending were Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) militants, terrorists linked directly with Al Qaeda according to West Point reports (.pdf), and listed to this day by the US State Department, the UK Home Office (.pdf), and the UN as a “foreign terrorist organization.” McCain was not only rhetorically supporting listed terrorists, but calling for material support including weapons, funds, training, and air support in direct violation of USC § 2339A & 2339B, “providing material support or resources to designated foreign terrorist organizations.” Tony Cartalucci, US-Backed Terrorists Murder US’ Own Ambassador in Libya, Land Destroyer Report, September 2012)
Since the outbreak of the insurgency in Syria, John McCain has been actively involved in meetings with rebel commanders. The Republican Senator met with armed groups in Syria in May 2013 and posed in a controversial “photo op” with leading Al Qaeda commanders. McCain described this encounter on his twitter as an:
“…Important visit with brave fighters in #Syria who are risking their lives for freedom and need our help” (twitter.com/SenJohnMcCain/… (John McCain (@SenJohnMcCain) May 28, 2013

The Washington Post reported at the time:
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has pushed back on a report claiming that the Syrian rebels he was photographed with last weekend were involved in kidnapping Lebanese Shiite pilgrims a year ago, saying none of the men identified themselves by the names used in the article.
The Beirut Daily Star reported Thursday that according to family members of the kidnapped pilgrims and one released captive, two of the men in pictures taken with McCain are Anwar Ibrahim and Mohammad Nour. [see image above]
The senator traveled to Syria last weekend to meet with rebels fighting in the civil war against President  Bashar al-Assad, becoming the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit the country since the conflict started. He has called on the Obama administration to provide weapons to the rebels. (Rachel Weiner, McCain responds to Syria photo accusations, Washington Post,  May 30, 2013)
In late August Washington Free Beacon reported that Benghazi and Darnah, the Libyan home towns of Islamic militancy mentioned in the West Point Study cited above, was a training ground for jihadists fighting in Syria:
U.S. intelligence agencies earlier this month uncovered new evidence that al Qaeda-linked terrorists in Benghazi are training foreign jihadists to fight with Syria’s Islamist rebels, according to U.S. officials.
Ansar al-Sharia, the al Qaeda-affiliated militia that U.S. officials say orchestrated the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound and a CIA facility in Benghazi, is running several training camps for jihadists in Benghazi and nearby Darnah, another port city further east, said officials who discussed some details of the camps on condition of anonymity.
The officials said the terror training camps have been in operation since at least May and are part of a network that funnels foreign fighters to Syrian rebel groups, including the Al-Nusra Front, the most organized of the Islamist rebel groups fighting the Bashar al-Assad regime in Damascus.
The officials said the jihadist training is a clear indication that Ansar al-Sharia continues to conduct terrorist activities and is linked to jihadists in both Syria and North Africa. (Bill Gertz, U.S.: Al Qaeda-linked group behind Benghazi attack trains jihadists for Syrian rebel groups, August 28, 2013)
John McCain Supports Terrorism
In requesting weapons for the Libyan and Syrian rebels which clearly have ties to terrorist organisations, Senator John McCain is supporting terrorism.
The United States Code is unequivocal: “providing material support to terrorists” is a crime:
18 USC § 2339A – Providing material support to terrorists
(a) Offense.— Whoever provides material support or resources or conceals or disguises the nature, location, source, or ownership of material support or resources, knowing or intending that they are to be used in preparation for, or in carrying out, a violation of [numerous sections of this and other titles], or in preparation for, or in carrying out, the concealment of an escape from the commission of any such violation, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both, and, if the death of any person results, shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life […]
 (1) the term “material support or resources” means any property, tangible or intangible, or service, including currency or monetary instruments or financial securities, financial services, lodging, trainingexpert advice or assistance, safehouses, false documentation or identification, communications equipment, facilities, weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel (1 or more individuals who may be or include oneself), and transportation, except medicine or religious materials;
[…]
 (3) the term “expert advice or assistance” means advice or assistance derived from scientific, technical or other specialized knowledge. 18 USC § 2339A – Providing material support to terrorists
Senator McCain met with terrorists in Libya and Syria, has called for his country to provide weapons to terrorist groups in Libya and Syria and should therefore be prosecuted for the assistance he provided them with. There is ample evidence that the armed groups supported by John McCain have committed horrible terrorist acts, which resulted in deaths.
Here is what McCain’s heroes have done in Libya:
According to witnesses, McCain’s Syrian “heroes”, have,  among other atrocities,  been blamed for the Houla massacre in 2012.
Screenshot YouTube
Last May, they were also blamed by UN investigators for chemical weapons attacks in Syria and lately they filmed themselves executing children (see What Happened to the “Global War on Terrorism”? The U.S. is “Fighting for Al Qaeda” in Syria. By Prof Michel Chossudovsky, September 05, 2013)
Is it “politically correct” for a US Senator to mingle with leaders of a terrorist organization, while at the same time paying lip service to the “Global War on Terrorism”?
While this may be “business as usual” for the US Secretary of State, American servicemen and women are now “refusing to fight” [see image below] a war in favor of terrorism under the emblem of the “Global War on Terrorism”.
Channeling money and weapons to Al Qaeda in Syria is now carried out “in the open”, via the US State Department and the Pentagon rather than in the context of a covert CIA operation. (Ibid)
Those who refuse to fight “Obama’s War in support of al Qaeda” are America’s heroes.
In contrast, John McCain’s “heroes” are known to be or have links to terrorist organisations designated by the US State Department as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, such as the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and Al-Nusra now fighting against the government of Bashar Al Assad in Syria.
These actions are far more scandalous than slacking on the job playing poker on a cell phone. Yet, this is what makes the news: focus on what is irrelevant and trivial while excluding the “forbidden truth” on the criminal nature of US foreign policy.
Senator John McCain is a criminal who provided support to terrorist groups. He belongs in jail, not in the US Senate. And certainly not in the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations which has granted Obama the “Green Light” to bomb Syria.

Israel has no dog in this fight - by Fresno Zionism

The Obama Administration has been working hard to get the support of US Jewish groups

FRESNO ZIONISM
Friday, September 6th, 2013 at 12:27 pm

I was surprised to read that AIPAC, the so-called “Israel lobby” in the US (full disclosure: to which I am a contributor) has come out squarely in favor of an American strike against the Assad regime.
The powerful pro-Israel lobby AIPAC is planning to launch a major lobbying campaign to push wayward lawmakers to back the resolution authorizing U.S. strikes against Syria, sources said Thursday.
Officials say that some 250 Jewish leaders and AIPAC activists will storm the halls on Capitol Hill beginning next week to persuade lawmakers that Congress must adopt the resolution or risk emboldening Iran’s efforts to build a nuclear weapon. They are expected to lobby virtually every member of Congress, arguing that “barbarism” by the Assad regime cannot be tolerated, and that failing to act would “send a message” to Tehran that the U.S. won’t stand up to hostile countries’ efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction, according to a source with the group.

In the past AIPAC has generally stayed close to the official positions of the Government of Israel. Unlike some other Jewish organizations, it has not in general taken the attitude that American Jews know better than Israelis what’s good for Israel.

But the official Israeli position on an American strike on Syria is neutral. For example, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said this Tuesday:
We aren’t getting involved in what is happening in Syria. What happened there crossed a red line from the Americans’ perspective, but we aren’t supporting, or involved in, a possible strike…

NY Times bureau chief Jodi Rudoren published an articleyesterday in which she claims that “Mr. Obama’s limited strike proposal has one crucial foreign ally: Israel.” But she provides little evidence for this. Rather, she argues that Israel is happy with the continued stalemate between the forces of Assad, Iran and Hizballah on one side, vs. Sunni Jihadists on the other. True or not, this does not imply support for Obama’s military initiative, which increasingly appears to be intended to tilt the conflict toward the rebels.

The Obama Administration has been working hard to get the support of US Jewish groups, whom it believes are influential with Congress:
The message from the two senior administration officials to Jewish leaders during a large conference call September 3 was clear: The Obama administration, said deputy national security advisors Ben Rhodes and Tony Blinken, believed that congressional approval of military action would send an important message to Iran, Israel’s most feared rival in the region.
“It is very important for us that we achieve a supportive vote in Congress,” said Blinken.
The two officials stopped short of directly calling on the Jewish community to put its weight behind President Obama’s request to authorize the use of military power against Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria. But the message was loud and clear, and at the call’s conclusion, Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice president of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, promised his umbrella group would issue a supportive statement.
But he also cautioned the two advisors: “We don’t want to turn this into an Israel-centric issue.”
A statement put out by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the powerful pro-Israel lobby, shortly after made this point clear. “Simply put, barbarism on a mass scale must not be given a free pass,” the statement said. …
Other Jewish groups also quickly fell in line with the new consensus supporting an attack against Syria. The Anti Defamation League issued its own strong statement of support for Obama and urged Congress to “act swiftly” to approve the resolution. The Republican Jewish coalition, in a rare show of support for the president, issued a call to its members to reach out to their elected officials and “ask them to support the upcoming resolution.”

It seems that the administration got what it wanted — despite the fears of the Jewish establishment that it would be painted as calling for war, and blamed for any negative results of Obama’s actions, as was (unfairly) the case with the Iraq war.

I think that this is a mistake on the part of AIPAC and the other organizations. Although there are arguments for and against intervention in Syria, I don’t see this as an Israeli or Jewish issue. Rudoren said that,
On Syria, in fact, Israel pioneered the kind of limited strike Mr. Obama is now proposing: four times this year, it has bombed convoys of advanced weapons it suspected were being transferred to Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite militia that Israel considers a major threat.

But in fact Israel’s strikes — which were precisely targeted to achieve very specific objectives were not at all like the planned American attack, which seems to be intended to teach a lesson about President Obama’s seriousness, and has no concrete military objective.

I am also not convinced that this will send a useful message to Iran. Surely the best message to Iran would be an ultimatum to stop its nuclear program or face military action. The involvement in Syria simply provides extra time to Iran to continue its progress toward a deliverable weapon, and conveys the inability of the administration to plan and carry out even a small action without an extended and public political process.

Israel is not responsible for the barbaric actions of the barbarians that it is unlucky enough to have as neighbors. Israel’s sole responsibility in this connection is to take steps to protect its people, which it will do regardless of whether the US decides to punish the regime or not.

Israel simply does not have a dog in this fight.

This administration has pushed a ‘peace process’ that is both in opposition to the rights of the Jewish people in international law and highly dangerous to Israel’s security. It has supported Islamic radicals in Turkey and Egypt, also to the detriment of Israeli security. Despite promising to prevent Iran from going nuclear, it has allowed it to delay a reckoning to the point that it may already be impossible to stop the regime. It has even prevented Israel from taking action to protect itself! There is ample proof by now that the Obama administration is no friend to Israel or the Jewish people.

Now it has decided that Jewish support can be useful against the embarrassing possibility that Congress may make Obama look even more indecisive and unleaderly than he already does — and we fall all over ourselves to help him!

Keep in mind that if anything ugly hits the fan, then despite the care that AIPAC et al are taking to not make it appear that this as an “Israel-centric”  issue, that is how it will be spun, even by administration officials (who will speak anonymously, of course).

I simply don’t understand — and this isn’t the first time — why US Jews and Jewish organizations seem to be so anxious to support this administration, even when there is absolutely no reason to do so.
