Marie Antoinette's Michelle Obama's Dress

Good morning America!

When you woke up this morning, what were your plans for the day?  Were you rushing to get ready for work, or heading off to the Unemployment Office?  I know a widow who sat down to make out her grocery list for the month, since her Social Security check is only deposited once a month and that is why everything she does for the entire month comes out of that one check.  Fortunately, for her, she does not need medications, so whatever is left after paying the bills, is all her's to spend on food for herself and her little puppy.  Maybe she should give up the pet, but since she lost her husband a year ago, her pet is what keeps her "going" - motivated, and for her, that pet gives her a reason to get up mornings.

Then, if we forget about our own personal trials and tribulations, put on the TV or read a newspaper, there is enough going on in this old world to make one paint a sign saying, "The End is Near"!

However, to hear our dear "Leader's" State of the Union address last week, things are looking up, America!  Who you going to believe - his lying eyes, or the reality of what you experience, see and know is true?

That widow had saved for a "rainy" day.  She and her husband banked a little each month, preparing for the day when both were retired and living their golden years without having to live with their adult children.  However, one catastrophic disease and sudden death left nothing in that "rainy" day fund and that is what has happened to thousands of Americans across our great nation.  The breadwinner's among the younger couples have lost their jobs, were laid off months ago, and struggle to meet their monthly rent/mortgage without a clue how long this downward economy will continue before they see a light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Rainy Day funds are a thing of the past for most of us - that's a given fact!

But, cheer up America - Michelle Obama may be breathing down the necks of your school-aged children and determining what they should eat and if possible, she would tell you what they could wear and what time they should go to bed, but that's another story.  Today, life is good for Michelle and her "Rainy Day" fund allowed her to go on a little shopping spree and spend $50,000.00 on lingerie.

I repeat, $50,000.00 on lingerie.  That sure is a lot of underwear for just one person!  Is there a record on how much she has spent on dresses? Shoes?  Handbags? Vacations? Just wondering ....

I can guarantee you that if any senior citizen living from month to month on Social Security won $50,000 on a lottery ticket, they would be able to live comfortably for the rest of their life on that 'rainy day" surprise!  They might treat themselves to a piece of cake from time to time!  That puppy would have a bag of bones/treats and would be smiling from ear to ear!

And so, to all GOP candidates: When you were asked during the last debate what characteristics your wives had that would make them a "good" First Lady, ... think about Michelle Obama and know within your hearts that your wives would be a welcome relief from the "Marie Antoinette Syndrome" of Michelle Obama.  I sure hope her daughters do not inherit her characteristics.
