But he does have $800 million for the Arabs
(Reuters) - The White House announced plans on Monday to help "Arab Spring" countries swept by revolutions with more than $800 million in economic aid, while maintaining U.S. military aid to Egypt. In his annual budget message to Congress, President Barack Obama asked that military aid to Egypt be kept at the level of recent years -- $1.3 billion -- despite a crisis triggered by an Egyptian probe targeting American democracy activists. The proposals are part of Obama's budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The "core budget" for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said. Most of the economic aid for the Arab Spring countries -- $770 million -- would go to establish a new "Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund," the president said in his budget plan...continue reading
How's that Arab Spring working out for the Arabs and its relationships with the United States? Reuters continues (from the article above, in describing Egypt's relationship with the US:
Egypt has long been among the top recipients of U.S. aid, getting about $1.6 billion annually, mostly in military assistance. In fiscal 2012, $250 million of aid approved for Egypt was economic; $1.3 billion was military and there was a $60 million "enterprise fund" approved by Congress. No U.S. assistance is moving to Egypt at the moment, U.S. lawmakers and their aides said last week. Some legislators favor cutting off aid to Egypt entirely if it does not drop accusations against American democracy activists and lift a travel ban on them.A few months ago, when the Palestinian Authority by-passed all "peace" negotiations with Israel and ignored the request by the United States not to present their case at the United Nations without first holding discussions with Israel, the United States withheld aid to the PA's per U.S. lawmakers request. However, in less than a month's time, the aid began flowing back into the hands of the Palestinian Authority. There were no repercussions for their actions by the United States and the Obama administration - none whatsoever!
Do you honestly think the U.S. lawmakers will be able to withhold aid to Egypt, for their un-American actions towards American citizens being held in Egypt's prison, soon to be tried as "spies"?
Let me guess! The ink won't be dry after Congress rejects aid to the Arab Spring when the cash will once again flow into the pockets of a military government in Egypt, with the Muslim Brotherhood waiting in the wings to take over Egypt's leadership/government.
As for the military aid the U.S. awards Egypt, the cartoon picture at the top holds more truth than one thousand words! For all the "military aid" given to the Islamic countries, for all the planes purchased from the U.S., how many have ever fought their own wars? Oh, they may rise up to overthrow dictatorships, but only to vote in new dictators or Islamic rule by worse Muslim terrorists such as, the Muslim Brotherhood, but as for all the BILLIONS awarded to the Arab Muslims, not one of these countries would be able to use the technology of our military aid - not in trains, planes or automobiles! Might as well dig a hole and bury that money for all the good it would do among the Arab countries.
Why do you suppose none of the Arab countries assisted the coalition in the war in Iraq? For one simple reason - Muslims will not war against Muslims. They leave that up to the West, to fight their wars, while they collect our BILLIONS in aid. We have become the slaves of the Islamic oil-rich countries and do their bidding in war after war throughout the Middle East. The Arabs went into Syria to "observe" - that's it - period. They call on the UN to assist, and soon, the West will do their bidding at the cost of more American lives, in a war that the Arab Spring countries will NOT be involved in - why should they, when they know we'll do it for them.. Will any of the planes the Arabs purchased from the U.S. be used? Not one will be seen flying to assist the Syrians.
The Arab nations did not like what was happening in Libya - who did they call? Ghostbusters?! No, it was the U.S. and NATO that wound up using their own military to interfere with the Libyian uprising. For all the good that did, once Khadafy was removed, tortured and killed by the dissidents, we now hear that Al-Qaeda is taking the "lead" in Libyia . Not one Arab nation assisted in overthrowing Khadafy. Meanwhile, Khadafy's leftover weapons are now being smuggled into Gaza.
So, why all the military "aid" to the Arab Spring countries? It's not to protect themselves, as they use the West to do that for them. Then why the urgency and build up of military aid to the Arabs? For one reason only - to attack Israel, which is what most of them promise to do when opportunity strikes.
The only time military weapons are used by Arabs in the Middle East is when they are pointed at our ally Israel. Israel is the "Ground Zero" of the Middle East. Hamas and Hezibollah point their weapons at Israel. Egypt threatens to dismantle any and all peace accords with Israel and yet, here we have an administration that wants to "aid" Egypt and the "Arab Spring"! At what cost? At the cost of arming and aiding the enemies of the West and Israel. They have done it in the past, in war after war against Israel, and given time, they will do it again.
Right now, the greatest threat against Israel and the West is Iran. Israel must focus on Iran, while we tell them in no uncertain terms NOT to attack Iran's nuclear plants. Iran hears us loud and clear, and began attacking Israel's diplomats these past few days. What's to stop them, when they know President Obama has warned Israel not to attack them!
Syria is right next door to Iran. Iran supplies Syria's government with military weapons. Stop focusing on Syria, a proxy of Iran and begin warning Iran that their agenda to wipe out Israel and attack US citizens is unacceptable - there will be repercussions if they continue their hell-bent objectives! And, if you really don't want to speak out against Iran's atrocities, then give Israel the "green light" to do it for mankind's sake - for our sakes, for the world's sake - stand up for our allies and stop aiding the Arab Spring!
We watch and listen to the cries of Israel's citizens as Gaza continues its ongoing war against Israel and yet, we continue to aid the Palestinians both in Judea and Samaria and in Gaza! It matters not that Fatah chose to unite with Hamas; matters not that Hamas wars against Israel; matters not that Egypt threatens Israel, attacks its Embassy, blows up gas lines in the Sinai; matters not what Iran does to instigate more unrest in the Middle East ... no repercussions, as the U.S. finds some outrageous reason to continue aiding the very countries that attack Israel
Has anyone figured out yet, that the enemies of Israel are the enemies of the West?! That Iran would end civilization as we know it, if they ever obtain nuclear warheads and the bomb?!
STOP AIDING the "ARAB SPRING" - PLEASE! For the sake of all of us and our own security, if not for that of our ally Israel and civilization, as we know it today.
