Obama's Budget - Going Down the Yellow Brick Road - by Bee Sting

The Wizard of Oz .. Yellow Brick Road
Americans Stand with Israel

Have you been following President Obama's plans for the 2013 Budget?  Yesterday, I posted his request to Congress for "$800 Million in aid for the "Arab Spring".  Has anyone in Congress blinked an eye over such a foolish request at a time when to-date,  the Arab Spring has led Egypt's "military" government to arrest American citizens as "spies", threaten our ally Israel, and the advancement of the Muslim Brotherhood's political Islamic rule is all but a sure "win" for Egypt's citizens.  I asked where does anyone in Washington think United States "aid" will go once Egypt accepts (if they do, as thee is some doubt they are refusing our unconditional "aid").  Isn't it strange that while America is in the worse depression economically since the Great Depression, so much so, that in the "cuts" to downsize, we downsize our military strength, while offering MILLIONS to countries that are moving towards a political Islam Sharia government - governments that hate the West and will spit in our face, while holding their hands out for aid?

Could things get any worse? Of course it can - follow the yellow brick road.

Obama Seeks Waiver To Fund U.N. Agency Congress Defunded Over Recognition of “Palestine”…

This is apparently one of Obama’s top priorities.
(CNSNews.com) – The State Department budget request for fiscal year 2013 includes $4.1 billion for contributions to the United Nations and other international bodies. Among the intended recipients is the U.N’s cultural agency, which lost U.S. funding in FY2012 after it became the first U.N. agency to grant full membership to “Palestine.”
The budget request released Monday includes $79 million for the Paris-based U.N. Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
UNESCO’s funding was cut last November in line with U.S. legislation that denies funds to any U.N. body “which accords the Palestine Liberation Organization the same standing as member states.”
Thomas Nides, the State Department’s deputy secretary for management and resources, told a briefing Monday that President Obama wanted waiver authority that would allow the U.S. to continue supporting UNESCO in the future.
“We have put the money in the budget, realizing that we’re not going to be able to spend the money unless we get the waiver – and we have made it clear to the Congress we’d like a waiver,” he said.
Senior Republicans warned the administration last fall not to look for ways around the law.
“Any effort to walk back U.S. law would send the damaging message that the U.S. will keep paying for U.N. bodies no matter what they do,” Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said at the time.
Today, Pat Dollard posted the following:

Obama To Decrease Missile Defense Funding To Israel For Second Year In A Row

WFB:For the second straight year, President Obama is seeking to decrease funding to joint U.S.-Israel missile defense programs.
Tucked within Obama’s 2013 budget proposal is a request to reduce the amount of money Israel receives for its critical missile defense systems by $6.3 million relative to the 2012 budget proposal. Among these defense systems are Arrow and David’s Sling, both of which are jointly operated with the U.S.
Publicly, the president has referred to himself as a stalwart champion of the U.S.-Israel military alliance. But administration efforts to reduce the amount of missile defense aid that Israel receives appear to be a growing trend in the president’s budget proposals.
In fiscal year 2011, the administration requested $121.7 million in military aid for Israel’s key missile defense programs, according to the Defense Department. That number dropped to $106.1 million in the 2012 budget proposal, and plummeted again to $99.8 million in Obama’s newly released 2013 proposal.

Obama set to okay Egypt, PA aid despite tension

Palestinians to see only slight roll back despite unity deal with Hamas; Egypt aid to remain at 2012 level.

WASHINGTON – Despite recent tensions between the US and Egypt and a new Palestinian Authority government set to include Hamas, the Obama administration budget unveiled Monday maintains nearly the same level of funding for both in 2013.

Egypt, which has arrested several US citizens who work for NGOs promoting democracy, is slated to receive $1.3 billion for military assistance under the plan and $250 million for economic assistance, as was also approved for 2012.

Have we reached the Land of Oz yet, where Obama plays the "Wizard" and believes he is living in the Emerald City?  Does anyone see through the "Plan" to increase aid to governments that are NOT in the best interests of America's security, while decreasing aid to the only democratic ally in the Middle East - Israel?

The Emerald City of Washington still has no idea how to "budget" and what should and should not be included in the Budget.  To jeopardize Israel's ability to ward off the threats of her neighbors at a time when our greatest enemy, Iran, is on the verge of obtaining nuclear capabilities and threatens to annihilate Israel, our first line of defense in the Middle East, is a sure sign that the "Wizard" in the White House surely lives in the fantasy Land of Oz.

Oh, if only someone in Washington had a brain and knew how to use it ....
