Obama backs off Christmas Tree Tax

A White House spokesman confirmed the USDA decision, but pushed back against criticism earlier in the day that labeled the new industry-funded campaign as a tax against Christmas trees.“I can tell you unequivocally that the Obama administration is not taxing Christmas trees,” said White House spokesman Matt Lehrich in a statement. “What’s being talked about here is an industry group deciding to impose fees on itself to fund a promotional campaign, similar to how the dairy producers have created the ‘Got Milk?’ campaign. That said, USDA is going to delay implementation and revisit this action.”

It’s not much, only 15 cents but it’s a tax Christmas trees, that makes it a tax on Christians, so the Administration is calling it a Fee…
A tax by any other name is is still a f’ing tax..

Obama Couldn’t Wait: His New Christmas Tree Tax
President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees—the Christmas Tree Tax—to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.In the Federal Register of November 8, 2011, Acting Administrator of Agricultural Marketing David R. Shipman announced that the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a Christmas Tree Promotion Board. The purpose of the Board is to run a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” (7 CFR 1214.46(n)). And the program of “information” is to include efforts to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States” (7 CFR 1214.10).

All of this is so the Obama Administration can fix the image of the Christmas Tree.. As far I know the Christmas Tree is one of the fee things in this Country that does’t need an image make-oer
On the other hand the President and his Administration are badly in need of an image fix

The quick change of opinion to tax the sale of Christmas trees - a tax I see as one on the celebration of Christmas by Christians, not on "trees" - was reversed due to the large outcry from the American public. I can almost guess America crashed the WH websites and Twitter accounts over Obama's latest "brilliant" idea! It was a reminder to those who understand Islam, of the Muslims taxing all non-Muslims just for being "infidels"! Obama denies that America was founded on Judea-Christian values - he just found out he's wrong (again!). Is it too early to say, "Merry Christmas"!?
