Hey Buddy, Can You Spare $38,500 to Save My Ass

Obama has shattered the amount of time and number of events
any president has ever spent to focus on saving their own job.

Mark Knoller - CBS

By day's end, President Obama will hit 100 on the campaign fundraising scoreboard.

He reaches the century mark by doing four money-raising events for his re-election campaign during a seven-hour swing through New York City. The visit follows a speech this afternoon here in Nashua, New Hampshire on the energy components of his strategy to boost the economy and create jobs. It has taken Mr. Obama less than a year to do a hundred re-election fund-raisers since he officially filed his candidacy for a second term with the Federal Election Commission on April 4, 2011.

The hard-driving effort to raise money has taken Mr. Obama to 13 states. The contributions taken in at Mr. Obama's fundraisers go to the Obama Victory Fund, an entity set up to raise funds simultaneously for the Obama for America campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

The most well-heeled contributors are asked to contribute $35,800 each
. It's the legal maximum under FEC rules and get split this way:

$2500 maximum to Obama campaign primary campaign

$2500 maximum to Obama campaign general election campaign

$30,800 maximum to the Democratic National Committee

The Obama campaign fundraising juggernaut has accumulated far more money than any presidential candidate.

The latest filing with the FEC shows the Obama campaign has raised over $140 million of which $106 million are from individual contributions. And as of January 31st, the campaign boasted a war chest of nearly $76 milllion collars "cash on hand." That compares to $63 million raised to date by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign, which had $7.6 million to spend as of the end of January.

Money doesn't always buy a political victory, but in 2008, a vastly superior war chest was an undeniable factor in helping a junior senator from Illinois win the presidency in a campaign against Arizona Sen. John McCain.

As president, Mr. Obama has yet another fund-raising advantage. He can travel the country at relatively little cost to his campaign. When he flies to Los Angeles for a series of fund-raisers, his campaign pays only a minuscule fraction of the $180,000 per hour it costs to fly Air Force One.

Like its predecessors, the Obama White House refuses to disclose exactly how it calculates the costs of political travel to be reimbursed to the government by the Democratic National Committee or the Obama campaign.

Unlike his predecessors, Mr. Obama claims to run the most open and transparent White House in history. When it comes to details of political fundraising, the transparency is opaque.'

The day the US military burned the Bible in Afghanistan

They burned the Bible.
In 2008 American troops confiscated, threw away, and burned God’s Word at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. The Bibles were written in the Pashto and Dari languages, and the Defense Department was concerned the books might somehow be used to convert Afghans.
The incident became public in 2009. Lt. Col. Mark Wright told CNN such religious outreach could endanger American troops and civilians because Afghanistan is a “devoutly Muslim country.”
But there was another reason the Bibles were confiscated. Military rules forbid troops from proselytizing in the country.
“The decision was made that it was a ‘force protection’ measure to throw them away because, if they did get out, it could be perceived by Afghans that the U.S. government or the U.S. military was trying to convert Muslims,” Wright said in the interview.
So that might explain why the Bibles were confiscated and thrown away, but why burn the Holy Scriptures?
Lt. Col. Wright explained to the news network that troops at posts in war zones are required to “burn their trash.”
Trash.
Trash.

Bee's NOTE:
We might want to ask this Administration:
1. Did anyone apologize to the American Christians for the burning of these Bibles?
2. How many soldiers were murdered by Christians when these Bibles were burned?
3. How many civil uprisings, demonstrations, flag burning were displayed after the burning of these Bibles?
4. How many threats of more killings were made after the burning of these Holy Bibles?
The answer is: NONE!
Perhaps Obama should begin teaching Islam "tolerance" ... after all, he continues to imply that all non-Muslims should have "tolerance" towards Islam.  Practice what you preach, boy!  Aha - one thing for sure and that is, tolerance is expected by Islam, but not practiced ... what a surprise!
And for all the cry-baby whining by these Muslims in America, a recent poll noticed that twice as many Mosques have been built in the United States since 9/11 .... Guess who's being "tolerant"?!

And now, a brief message to Obama - from Allen West

Allen West to Obama: 'Please Stop with the Bin Laden Line, Navy SEALs Double-Tapped That Rascal'

Via Allen West/Facebook:
I agree with President Obama that he does not bluff, he prefers apologizing. Simply stated, talk is cheap when dealing with despots, dictators, autocrats, and theocrats. PM Netanyahu understands his neighborhood and we should defer to a former Israeli Commando on matters such as this instead of a community organizer.
I appreciate President Obama’s desire to seem tough but so far it has only resulted in the expansion of radical Islamist dominance in the middle east. And please stop with the Osama Bin Laden line, US Navy SEALS double-tapped that rascal.

Netanyahu warns international community of Iran ‘trap’

O
TTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday the international community should not fall into the “trap” of renewed nuclear talks with Iran, adding that he would not set any “red lines” that would trigger military action.
At a news conference with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa, Netanyahu also urged the international community to impose demands on Iran, including the dismantling of a key uranium enrichment facility and the shipment of all enriched uranium out of the Islamic Republic.
Netanyahu said Iran could enter nuclear talks to try to ease mounting pressure from tough new international sanctions, but he asserted this would be a tactic to buy time.
“It could pursue or exploit the talks as they have done in the past to deceive and to delay so that they can continue to advance their nuclear program and get to the nuclear finish line by running the clock,” Netanyahu said. “I think the international community should not fall into this trap.”
The international community should make its demands on Iran clear, he added: Dismantle the underground nuclear facility in Qom, stop the enrichment of uranium — a key element of bombmaking — and get all enriched uranium out of Iran.
“And when I say all the material, I mean all the material,” he said.
The Israeli prime minister spoke just days ahead of a crucial White House meeting where he and US President Barack Obama are expected to discuss how the suspect Iranian nuclear program should be handled.
Tehran announced months ago that it was stepping up enrichment at its Fordo site near the holy city of Qom to 20 percent. Anything above that level of enrichment would be considered indisputable evidence that Tehran was moving to weapons-grade operations.
Although Israel says it hasn’t decided whether to attack Iranian nuclear facilities, it has signaled readiness to do so. Some senior Israeli officials say Israel would have to act by summer in order to get at operations that Iran is moving deep underground to heavily fortified bunkers.
US officials, wary that an Israeli strike could drive up oil prices and entangle the US in a new Mideast military confrontation during this year’s presidential election season, want to give diplomacy and sanctions more time to work. The US, with its superior firepower, would have longer than Israel to attack.
Israeli leaders have strongly hinted that they want to hear clearer terms from Obama on what the United States would do if Iran were to cross the threshold from nuclear energy to nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu, apparently acknowledging US resistance to the Israeli demand, said at the news conference in Ottawa that “I have not drawn red lines, and I will not draw red lines for the US.”
