"My job is done here!" ...
Jim ONeill (Bio and Archives) Monday, October 15, 2012
“The only hope for the survival of freedom in America and the rest of the world is for freedom’s defenders to stop making deals… stop apologizing for believing that government’s relentless multi-generational expansion must be reversed if civilization, prosperity, and liberty are to be restored.”—Daren Jonescu “No More ‘Reaching Across the Aisle,’ Please”
“The problems [Romney] will face will be equal to or greater than those faced by the four greatest presidents in American history… Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Reagan—combined. ...Democrats have so soiled the fabric of American society that the day Mitt Romney sets foot in the White House his very top priority must be to set in motion a complete reversal, a return to American traditions and constitutional principles. And he cannot be timid about it. He must attack the stains of liberalism with every ounce of vigor he can muster.” (italics added)—Paul R. Hollrah “A Man of Ultimate Consequence”
I used to feel that Washington DC needed to be razed, and the ground plowed and salted—but if Romney should win the election, I now feel that placing a big tent over the city and fumigating it may be enough. If we rid the city of the traitors, louses, and various parasites that now infest it (i.e. the politicians who feed off of “we the people,” and the lobbyists and other vermin who feed off of them in turn—parasite’s parasites, as it were), then it is possible that DC may be salvaged yet.
Last year Rep. Allen West told the media “Stop being afraid of this president. Stand up to him and call him out on the shirking of his duties and responsibilities.” I might add that “we the people” must adopt the same attitude when it comes to defending America—and it is worth keeping in mind that defending America geographically is of little use if we lose her culturally, morally, and spiritually.
Nowhere is standing up for what is right, true, and patriotic more important than when confronting the paleomedia. The old media has obviously and arrogantly moved from its long held liberal bias to an unapologetic liberal partisanship. “We the people” are offered popular “news” venues (propaganda outlets) that run the gamut from Far Left, to Left, to Moderate Left. True conservatism is considered quite beyond the pale, and disdainfully lumped together with “all of those right-wing kooks.”
Seeing as how “right-wing kooks” greatly outnumber the leftist media pundits talking down to us, it might be an opportune time to tell those pontificating pundits to put a sock in it. It is absolutely necessary that “we the people” recognize that the media will, as a matter of course, mock and otherwise attack anything or anyone that they feel is a threat to their weltanschauung or world view. We need to recognize their opposition as being a given, and take their insults as a badge of honor—after all, consider the source.
Rush Limbaugh has observed that “We still have people…in our party, who are obsessed that the liberals not think of them as they think of all conservatives.” Yeah, well, enough of that spineless wet-noodle posturing. If you can’t stand the heat then stay the heck out of the kitchen.
There is a conservative new media—mostly on the Internet and radio—that “we the people” have learned to turn to for the truth. It is mainly the new media that keeps us informed about much of what the paleo-press ignores, misrepresents and/or downplays.
For example, it is chiefly the new media that is responsible for holding the Obama Administration’s feet to the fire regarding “Benghazi-Gate.” “We the people” have been witness to the most shameless and inept political cover-up I can recall—it leaves Watergate in the dust.
We have been treated to the humorous/despicable spectacle of our UN ambassadorSusan Rice assuring us that the terrorist attacks in Libya were not terrorist attacks at all, but merely the result of impromptu street theater gone awry—all caused by a vile movie (which no one appears to have seen) put out by a hateful group of anti-Islamists. Then we were told “Oopsie, perhaps there was a teensy bit of Islamic radicalism involved.”
Referring to the murdered American Ambassador and other slain Americans, VP Joe Biden told us during the VP debate that ““We weren’t told they wanted more security. We did not know they wanted more security there.” Uh huh.
This tells us that either the White House ignored requests for added security that the staff of the American Embassy in Libya made, and is lying about it, or that the White House was so out of touch, and out of the loop, that requests for help were not even passed on to them. Personally, I am not especially fond of either alternative—a lying White House, or a clueless White House.
Obama no doubt had golf games to play, vacations to plan, campaigns to run, and other more important things to be concerned about than foreign diplomats pleading for protection. Besides, admitting that all was not “sunshine and lollipops” in Islam-o-Land meant that the official Obama narrative might be wrong—seriously wrong.
You know; the narrative that says that al-Qaeda and other such radical Islamic groups have disappeared—Poof!—like magic, and that the Muslim Brotherhood are simply misunderstood “freedom fighters,” and that anyone daring to question Islam is guilty of HATE SPEECH, and that…well, you know the narrative—which is not to be confused with the “Obama Doctrine,” which no one has yet deciphered to my satisfaction. (The Obama Doctrine has perhaps best been summarized by Mitchell Bard, who has identified its main tenets as: “America will support allies, encourage freedom and democracy and protect innocents from massacres by their leaders—except for when we don’t”).
Hillary Clinton’s excuse is that it would be idiotic to expect the US to “prevent every act of violence or terrorism or achieve perfect security.” That may well be true—but surely a volatile tinderbox like Libya, on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, deserved a more watchful eye and pro-active approach than it receive
Col. David Hunt (US Army Ret.) recently pointed out during a radio interview that as soon as the “Alert Button” in the Libyan Consulate was pushed at the start of the terrorist attack, dozens of monitoring stations around the world were notified and immediately started receiving live-feed video and audio from the scene.
Hunt noted that SOP protocol dictates that the POTUS, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State, the heads of the CIA, FBI, and like agencies be immediately informed of the situation. In short, The Powers That Be knew very quickly what was happening in Libya—the question is who decided to distort and spin it—and why.
It is no surprise that everyone in Washington is playing CYA over the avoidable tragedy in Libya. CYA in DC is par for the course and only to be expected—the days of “The Buck Stops Here” are long gone. One is much more likely to behold a game of “hot potato,” than to see anyone actually taking personal responsibility for anything amiss.
Be that as it may, it is time, and well past time, to unapologetically take a stand for America. Since when did vociferous sedition as practiced by leftist ideologues such as Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright become “free speech” protected under the First Amendment? When did all of the corrupt and treasonous words, behaviors and actions flowing out of Washington and the media become okay, become unremarkable, become the norm?
“We the people” must insist that our conservative representatives stop playing “footsie” with the leftist media, Marxist/Fascist ideologues, corrupt judges, treasonous politicos, and all the rest of the sorry scum trying (successfully) to drag America down into the gutter. We need to get serious about defending liberty—down and dirty serious. And should the paleomedia get offended when “we the people” stand up for liberty, I say f—-k ‘em, and the horse they rode in on.
